after a nice little day with the family in tulsa yesterday, we were able to catch amy’s family at the chili festival last night. i was supposed to have been a contender for the contest, but i found out that there are no “fillers” allowed! with that said – it meant no beans! anyone that has ever had my dad’s famous vanpay chili knows that beans is what makes that recipe. cale and i had to be content with a gyro and ice-cream cone.
most of today i spent in my portable office at the in-laws coming up with a system for our weekly team gatherings. we have exactly 25 weeks from tomorrow until the well launches publicly at the theater. i’m so pumped to meet with our core tomorrow evening to cast vision, share updates, give everyone a role, pray over “the list”, and let them in on the miracle that occurred this past Friday! it is by far the biggest example of god’s orchestration of our steps thus far! it left me in tears through the day.
earlier this afternoon as i was mowing our lawn and listening to worship on my ipod, my heart ached for god to strategically place me to make the greatest kingdom impact possible. my dream is that everyone around me in my realm of influence would catch a passion. i pray that in whatever life stage they are in – that they would hunger for god to use them beyond their imaginations. i used to live for myself and it was so boring. i just want to live for others and do what god created me to do – love him and love others! oh god i don’t know how many are actually going to show up tomorrow night for our first official team gathering but i commit it unto you. i’ve gone my part and i trust you to do yours. surround amy and i with passionate unselfish people that will come alongside us to serve this community with the authentic love of christ and BE THE CHURCH!
well i just gave the boys a bath a little bit ago, blogged, and cambo and i are going to get on pbskids.org for a little while before bed time.
